Haydon Wick Over 60’s Club Site
This site designed and maintained by ‘Him Indoors’. (Mike Warr).
The newly developed area of Haydon Wick (Abbey Meads) has this new Public House in the village centre, namely the
‘ABBEY MEADS’. Like most public houses it seems to provide lunches and evening meals,
‘St Andrews Ridge’ and ‘Ash Brake’ both part of the overall development of North Swindon are only partially in the Parish of Haydon Wick. Here again there is a new public house ‘The Jovial Monk’. It should be plural ‘Monks’ as the pub sign is a three faced one with three monks, being the face’s of the Directors of Arkells.
The ‘Haydon Wick Over 60s Club’ meet once a fortnight on a Monday afternoon. Our venue is this the Haydon Wick Club. It is also our main pick-up point for our Coach on our day trips and holidays.
The ‘Shield & Dagger’ public house in Thames Avenue, this being our second and only other pick-up point for our coach on day trips and holidays.
The Tawny Owl at Taw Hill is one of the later Public Houses in the Northern development close to Haydon Wick and is well worth a visit. Meals and snacks, both lunch time and evening are of an excellent standard and choice. An area set aside for families, all non smoking in the restaurant.
